Fertilization
3 Minutes · Chitti Videos
Where does the fruit come from a plant? How a flower gets transformed into a fruit? This process involves Pollination and Fertilisation. Transfer of pollen grains from lobes to stigma - Pollination. ●If the transfer is done by humans - Artificial pollination. ●If it happens naturally by insects like a bee - Natural pollination. If a pollen grain from a lobe reaches a stigma of the same flower - self-pollination. It happens in Bisexual flowers. If pollen from one flower reaches the stigma of another flower - cross-pollination. It happens in Unisexual flowers. Fertilisation: When pollen reaches a stigma, it develops a pollen tube. A male gamete forms a pollen tube, to enter the ovule inside the ovary . It combines with female gamete and forms Zygote. What happens to a flower after the fertilisation completes? To know this, see the video above!
